Stories that impact our past, present and future

Dear Viewers and Listeners,

Maya Angelou once said, "You can't really know where you are going until you know where you have been."

On September 3, we begin a year-long celebration of the past 50 years of SC Public Radio. Special events and programming will share stories from years past and talk about where the station is headed into the future.

As we launch the celebration for SC Public Radio, we will pause to commemorate some significant historical markers. It's been more than 20 years since Sept. 11 changed American culture. Programs such as Frontline: America after 9/11, Generation 9/11 and Great Performances: Verdi's Requiem: The Met Remembers 9/11 will air around the day of remembrance. Additionally, a new three-part documentary, The U.S. and the Holocaust, explores America's response to one of the greatest humanitarian crises in history. The series will air Sept. 18, 20, and 21 from 8-10 p.m. on ETV.

As we look toward the future, we are pleased to debut SCETV Safe Space, a new show designed to facilitate conversations around wellbeing and mindfulness. The first Safe Space discussion airs live Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. and will complement the new documentary, Facing Suicide, which airs Sept. 13 at 9 p.m.

We are also excited that How She Rolls Season 2 premieres on Sept. 15 at 8 p.m. with 10 new weekly episodes. Follow Charleston, S.C. biscuit entrepreneur Carrie Morey as she balances being a mom to three daughters with the pressures of being a business owner.

Your support helps SCETV and SC Public Radio tell the stories of these major milestones and topics. We thank you and make it our goal to continue bringing impactful content to our communities.
