Whether through education, trusted journalism, music, cultural storytelling or lifelong learning, we are committed to reflecting the richness of our state's people, places and experiences while fostering a stronger, more connected South Carolina.
SCETV and SC Public Radio continue to create opportunities for audiences to connect with the people, places and stories that make our state unique.
This August, our programming explores the importance of connection, belonging and creativity. A new partnership with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) will connect listeners across the state to nature through Into the Wild, new one-minute on-air and online weekday segments hosted by SCDNR Director Dr. Thomas Mullikin. Premiering Aug. 5 on SC Public Radio, the program highlights the individuals and programs dedicated to protecting South Carolina’s natural resources.
On Aug. 27, a new episode of SCETV Safe Space titled “Finding Community” premieres at 7 p.m. on ETV, examining how young people build meaningful relationships and find support in schools, peer spaces and everyday life. At 8 p.m. on ETV, Roots in the River: The Story of Congaree National Park celebrates the beauty of Congaree National Park while sharing the remarkable story of the conservation efforts that helped preserve one of the nation’s last remaining old-growth bottomland forests. The evening concludes with the series premiere of Solbird Sessions at 9 p.m. on ETV, blending live musical performances with conversations about mental health to explore the connection between creativity and emotional well-being.
As families prepare for a new school year, SCETV offers special PBS KIDS programming designed to support learning, resilience and self-discovery. The Day You Begin airs Aug. 3 at 8 a.m. on ETV, followed by A Big Storm Comes To Sesame Street at 10 a.m. on ETV. New episodes of Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Donkey Hodie and Weather Hunters will also premiere throughout the month.
