"Reel South" nominated for IDA Award
The International Documentary Association (IDA) has released the 2017 award nominees for the 33rd annual IDA Documentary Awards. The prestigious awards are selected by the IDA every year to honor the year’s best in documentary filmmaking. This year, South Carolina ETV and UNC-TV's Reel South is in the running for Best Curated Series, along with American Experience, Independent Lens, POV and Dokumania. Nominations for best feature and short, along with awards for creative recognition, will be announced on November 1. Winners for all other categories will be announced at the award ceremony on December 9.
Hosted by Darius Rucker, Reel South is an anthology series highlighting the best non-fiction storytelling from the region. Distributed to public television stations nationwide, the series brings diverse Southern voices, topics, and points of view into millions of homes.
