By Anthony Padgett, President & CEO SCETV

Celtic Thunder

Dear Viewers and Listeners:

We at SCETV and SC Public Radio have had a busy fall, and there’s no slowing down in the future. We are very excited to open our doors this month, continuing to celebrate SCETV’s 60th anniversary with a Diamond Jubilee Open House on Nov. 11.

Visitors can:

  • Tour our television and radio studios for behind-the-scenes glimpses into the broadcasting world.
  • Meet ETV Kids’ characters, including Smart Cat, Daniel Tiger, Clifford, Princess Presto, Super Why and more; and participate in a Kids’ Diamond Jubilee scavenger hunt.
  • Visit with Making It Grow host Amanda McNulty, storyteller Aunt Pearlie Sue, NatureScene’s Rudy Mancke, Palmetto Scene host Beryl Dakers, Expeditions host Patrick McMillan, Yoga in Practice host Stacy Milner-Collins.

We’ll also have a variety of SCETV giveaways, coloring sheets and pencils for the kids, refreshments and lots of photo opportunities for the whole family! It’s free and open to the public; we hope to see you there!

We are very proud of a recent partnership with WUFT in Florida, which allows SCETV and SC Public Radio to provide immediate, accurate and dependable information to citizens during a national disasters. As severe weather instances occur, communication platforms (web, radio, social, digital, broadcast) will be leveraged to quickly and efficiently spread the word.

SCETV’s Festival gears up the last week in November, with music specials ranging from Dionne Warwick and Engelbert Humperdink to Chet Atkins and Celtic Thunder. How-to specials focus on help for healthy aging, food choices, easy yoga and more. And there’ll be even more Festival programming next month as the holidays approach.
