April brings a season of possibility on SCETV

Dear Viewers and Listeners,

I've always viewed April as the month of possibility and hope. It is the time that invites a renewed sense of purpose, inviting innovation and change rooted in optimism. As we celebrate National Park Week and Earth Day, April reminds me that hope is not a fleeting thought, but something lasting and continually recurring.

In recognition of Earth Day, Wilding airs April 22 at 10 p.m. on ETV, telling the story of a young couple who entrust their 400-year-old estate to nature in what becomes one of Europe's most significant restoration projects. An Invitation to Wonder premieres on April 26 at 6 p.m. on ETV, a moving exploration of wetlands through a young filmmaker's lens. On April 19 at 7 p.m. on South Carolina Channel, Four Seasons for the Five Senses offers an immersive reimagining of Vivaldi inspired by nature's renewal.

April brings new seasons and premieres that highlight creativity and civic engagement. The AUXdacity makes its broadcast premiere April 2 at 9 p.m. on ETV. This dynamic, multi-platform podcast amplifies voices at the intersection of music, culture, education and politics through in-depth conversations with musicians, educators, journalists and cultural influencers, exploring how music shapes society's past, present and future. On April 9 at 8 p.m. on ETV, Towns in Tune returns for season two, connecting two communities from different countries by blending their unique histories through live music from Newfoundland and South Carolina. Native chefs share a taste of each culture, creating plates for concertgoers in a celebration of heritage and harmony. Later in the month, a Palmetto Perspectives Education Special titled Ready to Vote airs April 30 at 7 p.m. on ETV, examining the priorities, concerns and civic engagement of the next generation of South Carolina voters.

April is also Autism Acceptance Month, and I couldn't be prouder of the programming we're able to share with, for, and about those who are living with autism. During Autism Awareness Month, ASD Band: The Movie airs April 12 at 11 p.m. on the South Carolina Channel. New episodes of Carl the Collector begin April 1 at 8:30 a.m. on ETV, and Work It Out Wombats! welcomes a new friend April 3 at 9 a.m.on ETV PBS Kids. Season 2 of Wild Wild South premieres April 22 on scetv.org, and new episodes of Who What When begin April 4 at 11 a.m.on SC Public Radio.

The programming on SCETV encourages us that thoughtful care today of our natural resources, our communities, and shared stories can shape a more informed, inspired and sustainable future for generations to come. Thank you for being part of South Carolina ETV and SC Public Radio as we continue exploring the seasons of change, discovery and connection together.
